At home with my parents for the first time since Thanksgiving. There are presents lovingly wrapped under the tree and I am honored to state that six were purchased by me with my own money to give to my two best friends: mom and grandma. Merry Christmas to you!

Florals with pink hues. Not necessarily cliche to have pink flowers, especially when it's done right.

Delicious No Cook Lunch
Jeff and I love to cook and we especially like trying new combinations. But sometimes I don't feel much like cleaning or even cooking. I solved that problem with a delicious tuna sandwhich bowl!
1 can of tuna (we prefer canned in olive oil)
1 whole tomato (sliced as desired)
2 tbsps mayonaise
Basil leaves (in seasoning form)
Onion and garlic seasoning
3 slices white bread
1 slice Laughing Cow cheese in French Onion
Combine ingredients in a bowl (I used a tupperware bowl. Seriously.) Eat and enjoy!
Next time I definitely have to add sliced celery.
Next great meal I'm thinking of preparing? Cous cous bowl with veggies (and possibly chicken or tuna).

Holiday Glitz: Silver and Purple
The holiday season evokes some color combinations that are both classic (red and green) and chic (metallic). Here is an interpretation-slash-inspiration for your holiday festivities: silver and purple.
2 Photo Sets: Mila Kunis
I can't say I'm a fan of this particular actress, but the girl can certainly take a beautiful picture. Enjoy.

CLL on Tumblr
I have signed up for a Tumblr blog to create a companion blog to Color Love Life. It's set up gallery style so I can post photos from my personal (and growing) collection of photos that inspire. CLL on Tumblr will be updated daily, including a new segment I'm calling the Daily 5. Each day I will upload 5 new images that are inspiring to me (and hopefully to you as well!) Here is a sample of your Daily 5 for Wednesday, December 2, 2009:

Celebrity Photograph(y)
I love picking up a camera and snapping a photo to capture something interesting. I don't do it enough. But when I come across a person I admire who does it with great enthusiasm, it ignites my interest once again. It's no secret that I have a tremendous admiration for Lauren Conrad of "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills" fame. Her style aesthetic is chic simplicity and she can do no wrong. I came across these photos she snapped herself, both with a Nikon and her BlackBerry (and posted via Twitter). Check it out. (Click for Lauren's Twitter and MySpace)
For Those Who Shop at Lane Bryant
Lanebryant.com is offering Buy One Get One Free today, with free shopping when you spend $75 or more. What will I be shopping for? New bras.
True story: on Thanksgiving Lane Bryant was offering everything at 40% off. I nearly bought 3 bras (buy 2 get 1 free) but ended up deleting them from my cart. Now I have the opportunity to get them again! Happy Shopping!

Benefits of the Cucumber
I stumbled across this today and thought I would share it. I personally don't care for cucumbers, but I'm willing to put that aside to try a few of these!
1. Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins you need every day, just one cucumber contains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc.
2. Feeling tired in the afternoon, put down the caffeinated soda and pick up a cucumber. Cucumbers are a good source of B Vitamins and Carbohydrates that can provide that quick pick-me-up that can last for hours.
3. Tired of your bathroom mirror fogging up after a shower? Try rubbing a cucumber slice along the mirror, it will eliminate the fog and provide a soothing, spa-like fragrance.
4. Are grubs and slugs ruining your planting beds? Place a few slices in a small pie tin and your garden will be free of pests all season long. The chemicals in the cucumber react with the aluminum to give off a scent undetectable to humans but drive garden pests crazy and make them flee the area.
5. Looking for a fast and easy way to remove cellulite before going out or to the pool? Try rubbing a slice or two of cucumbers along your problem area for a few minutes, the phytochemicals in the cucumber cause the collagen in your skin to tighten, firming up the outer layer and reducing the visibility of cellulite. Works great on wrinkles too!!!
6. Want to avoid a hangover or terrible headache? Eat a few cucumber slices before going to bed and wake up refreshed and headache free. Cucumbers contain enough sugar, B vitamins and electrolytes to replenish essential nutrients the body lost, keeping everything in equilibrium, avoiding both a hangover and headache!!
7. Looking to fight off that afternoon or evening snacking binge? Cucumbers have been used for centuries and often used by European trappers, traders and explores for quick meals to thwart off starvation.
8. Have an important meeting or job interview and you realize that you don't have enough time to polish your shoes? Rub a freshly cut cucumber over the shoe, its chemicals will provide a quick and durable shine that not only looks great but also repels water.
9. Out of WD 40 and need to fix a squeaky hinge? Take a cucumber slice and rub it along the problematic hinge, and voila, the squeak is gone!
10. Stressed out and don't have time for massage, facial or visit to the spa? Cut up an entire cucumber and place it in a boiling pot of water, the chemicals and nutrients from the cucumber with react with the boiling water and be released in the steam, creating a soothing, relaxing aroma that has been shown the reduce stress in new mothers and college students during final exams.
11. Just finish a business lunch and realize you don't have gum or mints? Take a slice of cucumber and press it to the roof of your mouth with your tongue for 30 seconds to eliminate bad breath, the phytochemcials will kill the bacteria in your mouth responsible for causing bad breath.
12. Looking for a 'green' way to clean your faucets, sinks or stainless steel? Take a slice of cucumber and rub it on the surface you want to clean, not only will it remove years of tarnish and bring back the shine, but is won't leave streaks and won't harm you fingers or fingernails while you clean.
13. Using a pen and made a mistake? Take the outside of the cucumber and slowly use it to erase the pen writing, also works great on crayons and markers that the kids have used to decorate the walls!!

Working Girl
I've been fortunate enough to work an increasing amount of hours the past couple weeks thanks, in large part, to Black Friday and the Holiday Season. Unfortunately my feet haven't been too cooperative, and there have been times when I've barely been able to walk for a short period of time once I returned home from a shift. But, I'm getting into the groove of things and more than grateful for the hours + weekly paychecks. My bills are getting paid and I can afford presents for my friends and family this holiday season. Unfortunately it also means I haven't had much time to blog. I will try to blog on days that I'm off, but I'm only averaging about one day a week in that area. I have a couple posts to go out today, so I hope that will help!
